About Us

Our Academy was established in collaboration with NOCROP (North Orange County Regional Occupational Program) and working together we have develpoed a program that continues to grow and exceed our highest expectations. We are going into our fourth year as an Academy at Esperanza High School, and now offer courses in Medical Careers I, II, and III. Our Academy is made up of seven team members on site: The Medical Careers Teacher, Counselor, Asst. Principal, Health/Careers Teacher, Science Teacher, and two English Teachers. Furthermore, our team is also partnered up with the Principal from BYMS, Administrators form Cypress College, and Industry partners from St. Jude Hospital. We work very hard to provide our students with the best knowledge and first hand opportunities to learn more about the field of medicine. This is not only a program designed to offer a career pathway into the medical field, it's also a program built to instill professionalism into all of our students, regardless if they are planning to pursue a career in medicine. This includes, but is not limited to, resume writing, acquiring letters of recommendation, and being prepared to present oneself in a professional manner when interviewing. We also have a National Affiliation with HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) and our students put in a lot of hours fundraising to promote HOSA and help finance their costs of traveling to competitions. Our students have worked very hard to help our team develop a positive reputation amongst our peers, and we continue to strive in developing that reputation while providing all of our students with the necessary tools to succeed in life.

Our Students

Our students come to us with an array of experience and expectations. From the mildly curious to the focused and motivated. Therefore, it is our goal to present a curriculum that is beneficial to all students, regardless of academic struggles, language barriers, prior knowledge, or any other extraneous factors that may separate our students.
